Tribute to SU STALWARTS
In reverence and remembrance of Harry Cotter, who has peacefully gone to be with the Lord on 3 March 2020. Giving thanks for his involvement at SU Kenya and serving as SU Singapore Associate Director from 1988-1990. We celebrate his life, commitment and ministry that has made a profound impact, inspiring many lives around the world. Ms Kam Poh Kim, a former Chairperson of Junior ISCF was called home to be with the Lord on 25th January 2020. In the 1940’s, Miss Kam was offered a scholarship to study Home Economics in Bath, England. Thereafter she started teaching Home Economics which gave her the opportunity to reach out to students. Her journey with SU began when she was called to help out at the SU Senior Inter-School Christian Fellowship (ISCF) Committee. Similar to Moses, she did not have the confidence. However one day, God birthed a passion and stirred her heart to reach out to the little ones. In 1965, Miss Kam became the first Chairperson of the Junior ISCF and went on to serve in the SU Council for about eight years. She constantly reminded herself to surrender and submit to God’s will. “We must do what God wants us to do rather than doing what we want to do for God.” Faithfully, she dedicated each day of the week to praying for different ministry organisations; every Friday she prays for SU Singapore and International. We are thankful and grateful to Miss Kam for her invaluable contributions and being an exemplary prayer warrior.
