Testimonies

Hi!

I just wanted to share with you a testimony from my church member - this is directed especially to Jocelyn who wrote the song "In Christ we have the victory".

After learning the songs through the SU Hupernikomen Trek Programme, I decided to teach some of the songs to the children at my church camp in early June. One of them was "In Christ we have the victory"…

One of the girls, Janna is a 5 year-old who has only one good eye. After the camp, during a routine medical check-up, she was found to have the same vision problem affecting the good eye. After the grim report from the doctors - risk of her becoming blind, her mother managed to carry her to the car, and just sat in the car, feeling very alone and devastated by the news. Suddenly, she heard a small voice singing "In Christ we have the victory......I have nothing to fear, 'cos my Jesus is near...". God used Janna and the song to minister to her and through it all, God has reassured her of her grace and presence and power to overcome all problems.

The good news is through prayer and intercession, God has caused a miracle to take place and the eye is healing.

Thanks be to our great and almighty God!

And thanks to you, Jocelyn for the song and to SU for the opportunity to serve in the Trek Programme. I have benefited from it and hope to help out in future if God gives me the opportunity to do so.

Subject: W.O.W Conference 2007
Dear David, Patrick, Winnie, Lina and Ruth

I'm writing to express my appreciation and thanks to all of you for the wonderful lessons you taught me personally and the blessings that you folks brought to my life. This is the first Children's Workers conference that I've ever attended and it made me realise that there is so much more that I need to learn. I trained as a paediatric nurse so I know a bit about caring for sick children but normal healthy kids....that's totally out of my league! You made me realise that this children's work is not just about keeping the kids occupied whilst the adults have their service...but about having a vision to raise a generation of young people for God's kingdom.

It's such a pity that others from my church could not attend but I hope to share with them the things you taught me. In fact, I've already started using the ideas you gave us. Our church is very small, 25 adults (mainly university students) and 10 kids (from 3 families) age range 2 - 11. We've played the potato chip game, sang the monkey, gorilla, chimpanzee song and next on the agenda is to teach them to sing worship songs to which they have been very resistant...the group consists mainly of boys! Ruth taught me moves that I did not think my arthritic knees were capable of!! The jaws of my 2 girls drop as I showed them the moves of the "Absolutely nothing" song...more of shock and embarrassment than amazement, I should think!!!

I hope that one day you will be able to hold such a conference on the east coast of W. Malaysia so that others from this region will be able to attend. Please say a prayer for us when you are reminded of us in this very strongly M state of Kelantan, that we will press on and not lose our zeal as we serve Him in this place. Thank you once again. I pray that the Lord will continue to use your ministry to renew, revive and challenge others to soar to greater heights with Jesus.

With deepest appreciation for your invaluable ministry and with love in Christ Jesus,

Subject: WOW Conference 2007

Hi Lina,

Thank you very much. Just want to let you know what happened to me after the conference. During the conference was like, ya I must get more info, more info. Thought it won't affect me spiritually. Strangely when I came back to Penang. My quite time with God was very different, I feel so much in love with God all over again. Thank all of you for imparting your live to us. Actually since January I stop serving ‘cos I need a year break, I was Children Director in the church and I was scheming in my mind how to tell my pastor don't want to get involve in children ministry next year. Actually I never intend to join this conference, was asked twice by my pastor. One morning as usual I was having my quite time, was very convicted to join. Thank God I obeyed His voice. You guys did great, especially how God work through all of you. Keep it up. Next month I will start serving again. Thank you for sharing your life with us. God bless.

Subject: WOW Conference 2007

Hi Winnie

Thank you for the CD and memory verse book. Sorry this is late but my computer 'ko-ed' on me the week after I received your package.

Me and my 2 kids were so blessed by your team and we have not stopped talking about you guys. Zoe has really matured through this conference and I can see her using the things that she learnt. As for Matthew, he is now more confident and very willing to serve. As a parent that is truly an answered prayer. As for me, I am more equipped to plan for next year's Sun School program.

Keep up the good work and thank you for allowing God to use both you and Patrick in such a tremendous way.

Serving Him
